It appears to be confirmed that the E350 will be imported in March. Does anyone know if the CLK350 is far behind ?

 

August build for September delivery, complete with a significant restyle !

Havent seen pictures but I believe the nose will change. Hopefully it will go like the CLS and not like the SLK or the '06 SL !!

Also some engine changes, nice CLK320 CDi V6 Diesel !

 

if mb puts that goofy nose on the SL, it will ruin the car. the current design is by far one of the best looking on the road.

 

ben- not that i don't trust you or anything (must be the law student in me) but, is this confirmed, and by whom? I'm going to be in the market in September, so that would be pretty much perfect timing for me.

tampa- Um, which 'goofy nose' are you refering to, the SLK's or the CLS'? I think the CLS's face is going to be the new corporate one. After all, the R-Class's and new ML's fascias appear (at least to me) to take cues from the CLS

I read all that in Mercedes Enthusiast, its never been wrong before and seems to be an official press release statement. Also read it in the MB UK Club mag.

I'll be ordering in Sept too hopefully so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for info !

 

Just came across a Japanese auto magazine which had an insert from a German auto magazine (in Japanese). Pictured was the new CLK350 and CLK350 cabriolet. Both had the CLS type headlights.

 

Were they actual photos or were they artist renders?

 

The magazine is the Japanese version of Auto Bild (a German auto magazine.) It was in the February 2005 issue. The photos are more than artist renderings as they show actual people in the vehicles and European license plates intact. That is not to say that they might not be photoshopped though. Interestingly, also pictured is a CL Cabriolet designated as CL550. It looks like Mercedes is finally going to make an S Class based cabriolet after same being rumored for so many years.

 

Has anyone heard about the possibility of a CLK 350 with the same manual transmission found in the SLK350? That would be irresistible!
