Recommended NYC area Dealer Service???

All,

Recently acquired my 05 CLK and I'm about due for my 1st complimentary service.
I have afew minor warranty items I'd like to have done (driver door molding strip and thermometer) After checking www.dealerrater.com for Mercedes Dealer ratings found that nothing positive was said about the NYC area service centers especially MB of Manhattan where I purchased the car.
I was hoping members of this forum can share their experiences and offer suggestions on NYC area dealers to use for service.

Many Thanks,

Roger

purchased my car from mb of nanuet. it's about 45 min. from nyc. Palisades pkwy N to exit 8 or 9 (rt 59) to rt 304. Very accomodating staff. Car wash is abysmal at best. Always appear to be willing to help and will usually find things you may have missed. Speak to Dave or Ed in the service dept. dave is a little hard to contact directly, but will always call you back. 845-501-0195 service, or 845 624-1500 dealership. Good luck. Be careful as to the condition you leave your car . I have come back with slight damage, little tears hear and there, a scratch ot two. Because I live in a city, these things aren't too concerning to me (save the tears). That's the reason we purchased a silver car. Good luck.

The guys who are REALLY terrific are Benzel Busch of Englewood, NJ and they are about 10 mins from the GWB. Ask for Frank Scott (201-567-1400) and he will take care of you. Great service, great attitude, nice MB loaner cars and solid service from start to finish. I've dealt with Porsche service for the last 12 yrs and these guys make Porsche service centers look like rank amateurs.

my first mercedes i bought at david michael in freehold, nj and while i got the best deal in the ny/nj area on the car i wanted, their service dept was the absolute worst and prompted me to look elsewhere for service. heres my experience with all the local mb dealers/service centers:

david michael
good prices at the time, horrible customer service and no one knew what was going on. they would tell me that my car was ready to be picked up after service and i would drive from ny to freehold to find out it wasnt ready and wind up sitting there waiting for hours. no mb loaner cars.

ray catena
by far the best dealer in nyc/nj area. its in the top 2 in sales of mbs in the united states always trading places for the #1 spot with one of the dealers in CA (laguna nigel i think). they just recently built a brand new service center that has a huge waiting area with plasmas, indoor golf range, pool tables, computers with internet access, food and drinks. they also have another service dept in union, nj. in the past 4 years ive picked up 5 cars from them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! i always get MB loaners (c's and ml's)

mercedes benz of manhattan
its one of the only local dealers that isnt owned by an independent, its owned by MB. they tend to have better prices because they dont charge for prep and destination charges. nice cars on display for sale, salesmen are idiots and dont know what they are talking about. overheard one of the salesmen tell an asian guy that a cls on the floor had an "AMD" package which is only different from an "AMG" in that it doesnt have the same engine. service dept is ok but you have to wait a while for an appt.

soverign
had them service the w220 one time there and it came back with a huge scratch on the left rear quarter panel. they did not make good for it. note: this was when they were on flatbush avenue, since then they have moved over to coney island and have more space. their spot over on flatbush was real cramped. if you didnt buy your car from them you can forget about an MB loaner

silver star
just used their parts dept and bathroom before to take a ****. not really sure how they are.

helms bros
i would never go there after reading about the service tech last year that took some guys ML home without permission. MB found the truck by using TeleAid.

Lakeview Mercedes in Rockville Center is the way to go. Very wealthy neighborhood, so they handle more than their share of AMG's and are usually overwhelmed with service appointments.

Never heard a complaint about them.

I have to agree with Bklynbenz. I purchased my '05 E55 from Ray Cantena. All I can tell you is they have the best service period. Their new 80 bay ( yes 80 bays ) service center is the best I have ever seen on this planet. It has a pool room, golf putting rang, plus free food and drink while you Benz is being worked on. If you don't want to wait they will loan you a new C or ML class. What more can I say? I am a very happy customer of Ran Catena.
