What's the longest amount of time (in one stretch) you've spent detailing your CLK? When it quits raining here, the 55 will get a thorough handwash (usually wash it 2 times) and a complete hand wax....then an orbital buffer for high gloss

CLK 430
7 hours last Sunday on the exterior: wash, clean and wax (all Zymol products).
I don't often get to stay in one place for too long at the weekends, so it was a very good way of making sure that I relaxed over the weekend.

I bought a 92 400E about 7 years ago and the paint was in pretty bad shape cosmetically. It was owned by an elderly couple who only ran it through the local brushless car wash, so it had never been "detailed". I think I spent about 12 hours one Saturday and then about another 8 on Sunday between claying and Zaino's, pre FX when you had to wait between coats. It was black and the thing shined like no other when I finished. I bought it for $12,500 and sold it in the first 4 hours of putting it in my office lot 2.5 years later for $13,000. I don't know if my back could do that again. Great car and the detail really made a world of difference.
