Has anyone considered a CL/E/S/SL55 engine swap for their CLK55?

03 CLK55
Question Has anyone considered a CL/E/S/SL55 engine swap for their CLK55?

As some of you might know, I've been going 'round in circles over the whole idea of supercharging my 03 CLK55, and lately I've been wondering if it might make sense to track down an engine from a totaled CL55/E55/S55/SL55, basically any car with the kompressor V8. I figure that it would offer the benefit of additional power (obviously) with factory reliability. Obviously a kompressor V8 must go for some big bucks, but hopefully some of that cost can be recuperated through the sale of my stock motor. Has anyone else looked into this route? I've been looking at E-bay, but have yet to find a motor, but I'm sure that one can be tracked down easily enough...

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!

Best regards,
Matt

Good luck in finding that motor.Expect to pay easily over 15-20k for a used one not including the price of the ECU,maybe the tranny(unless it bolts upto the stck tranny, the traction control unit and install...How much do you think you're gonna get for you're stck CLK 55 motor? In the end you will probably just be better off putting on a Kleeman on your existing CLK 55 motor.Factory FI motor,NOT WORTH IT!Kleemanize it!
