They don't show a 2006 CLK55 coupe on MBUSA.com? Will there be one for 2006?

They do show the cab for 06 see:http://www.mbusa.com/amg/model-inc.j...delsection=CLK

but no coupe yet, I've got to believe if there's a cab they'll be a coupe

I don't think so....I believe in 2003 when they came out with the W209 Coupe they still had the old W208 as a convertible. I think?

Yes that's what they did due to the model change(208 to 209); but I'm not sure if the 209 is getting changed so soon although at one point not too long ago I did think just that.

There will be no MY 2006 CLK55 coupe in North America, MB has finally realized that this car has no market at all.

In 2003, they offered a W208 CLK430 cabrio, not a W208 CLK55 AMG cabrio (which was only available in MY 2002).

I took some quick pictures. I will post better pics later. I have to tell you that this car looks 1000x better in person... love the quad exhaust and 18" double spoke AMG

I just had a pleasure of driving the car from Manhattan to Flushing (for nice chinese dinner). All I can say is WOW. Both the engine sound and ride was amazing. I am not gonna need either radio or CD player for a long while. Played with +/- manual mode and to my surprice, the gear shift was more responsive than I expected. Got lots of attention while cruzing around the city, which I have nothing to complain about Got lots of attention on the highway too. A 911 Turbo wanted to race, which I did not bite for an obvious reason and a mitsu eclipse (with neon, big spoiler, etc) wanted to race, which once again I did not bite for an obvious reason. I just can't wait to drive the car back to Baltimore. A 3 hour drive would be very absolutely fantastic. I have nothing negative to say about this car but tons of superlatives. One more thing. Got lots of compliments from my lady friends :v (and drooling and envy from my guy friends). And yes, they knew the difference between AMG and non-AMG mercs. I am gonna post more pics tomorrow!

I guess that's right, eh Chappy? No 2001 CLK 55 cabs were made?

I wonder how many total 2002 CLK 55 cabs were made, all told? (I'm still praying mine will be a collector's item in 30 years, when I'll probably be on my last legs assuming I make it that far)

kbk - I still prefer my W208 cab (up from 4137 miles at purchase to 5999 miles as of tonight ) over a W209 coupe, but you got a badass deal dude ... <Cartman>Schweeeeeeet</Cartman>

Correct. No W208 cabs in '01.

I heard different numbers thrown around about how many W208 cabs were made (as few as 400 worldwide). I posed the question in April of last year and here's the response I received:

Link...

http://www.amg-owners-club.org/board...208+production

Bottom line is that very few were made and you may truly have a future collector car!

lol, 800, 400, another thread I found from doing a Google search said 540 ... at any rate, it's clear they're not "rare" - there's over 10 of 'em listed on Cars.COM right now!

And I'm sad to say that I no longer have the lowest-mileage 2002 W208 CLK 55 cabriolet out there, either ...
