03 CLK55
Question Recommended inflation pressure for 04-05 CLK55??

I have an 03 CLK55 for which I've added a set of 18" Brabus Style VI wheels. I know that the manufacturers recommended tire inflation pressure is listed on the inside of the fuel filler door, but the recommended pressuures listed for my car were for the OEM 17" wheels. So I'm thinking that the best route would be to follow the recommendations for the 04-05 18" wheels. If you could give me both the standard inflation numbers as well as the numbers for "Over 100 mph driving", I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Matt

Tire pressure

I'm Currently doing the same thing . Installing 05 SLK 5.5 AMG wheels. I went and got some sale lit & specs for a 05.
Just add 2 psi to the tire psi recommendation found inside the gas cap door. So your tires don't wear out the outside edges on the front . The rear tires will always wear out in the center . Worse on the OEM 17"wheels. Soft compound & reverse molding . Tire belt lay up , will let centrifical force hi high speeds , SLING the center of the tire outward . Kinda like what you see on top fuel Dragsters. Hense hi wear in the center
18"tire & wheels seem to handle this better & generally show tire wear improvment . Michelin P/S2 also have address this issue Hope this helps ___PTE___

Looked at the gas cap door on a 05 SLK5.5 AMG @ A Benz dealer. it has 18" Wheels Said 32 psi in the front & 35 psi for the rear. Will keep looking a 05 CLK 5.5 . They are hard to find locally.

You're right about the tire wear pattern for w209's, therefore I keep 3 extra lbs in the fronts and 3 less in the rears.
