No, it will retain the natural aspirated V8 engine from the previous CLK55 but with engine power uprated by 15kw (20hp) to 270kw (362hp).

I studies many times to find the "best platform"and following are my thoughts
(1) W209/CLK55 designed to be a high rpm runner
Redline 6700 !!!! final-ratio 3.07 (vs 5.0 6000 & 2.82)
Responsive in low speed as a result.
(2) Compression 11 : 1, a little too higher for S/C.(stock 10:1)
most of BMW squeeze the power this way,thus lack of
a reliable aftermarket supercharger,it could work in theory.
in demo car, on the mags, but not in daily life.
AMG speedshift is damn great !
I hope it can be optioned in all V8,V12 models.
CLK55 even get it on the steering wheel.
I think the new CLK55 runs the way BMW does !
