Hey SFBAYCLK55AMG,
I just checked out the link to the photos of your car and WHOA! That looks nice! I used to think that the 19" rims were too big for CLK but, they really look nice on your car.
Did you notice a huge (harsh) difference in the ride with the 35 series tires?

I noticed less road noise with the 19's and the ride doesn't seem to be compromised thanks to the Koni's. I feel it's comfortable. I'm using the Nitto Extreme ZR's and so far they perform well. It's been raining here in the Bay Area and I was really cautious, but the tires seemed to grip well in the rain.

<btw> nice ride, what you got planned for it?? watch out modding is contagious.

Yeah, I definitely have the wheel / tire upgrade first on the list but, after seeing your car with the “19 wheels I’m back to “a little confused”. I really like the way they look on your car and you say that the ride has not changed for the worse with the larger wheels.

The whole upgrade: It’s like getting an education. I was convinced that 19” wheels were too big for these cars but, it’s more like you just have to do it right. I saw a car on e-bay that had 19” wheels and was lowered and it looked like a tinker toy. Maybe it was just lowered too much (I’ll insert a photo so you can see what I mean). On this car the 19” wheels either look too large or the car was lowered or something. It just doesn’t look right so, when I first saw this one I figured it was an 18” max. but, now after seeing yours I may have to go with 19”s?

I did find a really cool link (that one of the other members posted) where you can pick different wheels and see what they look like on your car. Here it is: http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...&autoYear=2002

After the wheels I plan to get the windows tinted, consider getting the car “chipped” (have read some but, need to do more research), definitely an upgrade to the sound system (again need more research) and finally (yeah, get this one) I’m going to have the seats recovered in some better (more plush) leather. Not to stir it up but, I swear the seats in my Cherokee are softer more comfortable then the ones in my CLK.

Anyway (first at hand) here is a picture of the CLK with the 19” wheels that I had first seen and decided that they were too large. Not sure what it is but, this car just doesn’t look right.

For some reason I can't post the photo. It says that I've already uploaded this photo to another thread. So what, the thread police will only let you upload a photo once? I could see that but, not if it is a complete different thread?
Well, I guess I'll just have to link to it (till I can figure a way around the thread police)... https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg-clk63-amg-w208-w209/132640-best-wheels-white-w208-clk55.html

Hey Ashutt....why does it look like you have really large gaps in your hood near the headlights?
Almost like the hood isn't on right.

The original intent of this thread, other than whoring, was to see who is a current owner. It seems many of the folks who posted on the stickied picture thread have subsequently sold their vehicles. In additon, we have many new faces around here and would like to extend a warm welcome and invitation for them to be an active participant.

p.s. Normally, I would have responded sooner, but have been undergoing some medical testing for acute abdominal pain. The verdict? Friggin' 7mm kidney stone! Yesterday, I drank at least three gallons of water and juice to try and flush this thing along....

Low Pressure Lithotripsy will cure that quickly, rather than waiting on the damn thing to pass....

When the ultrasound was done, it was still stuck in the upper portion of the right kidney. They were hoping with all the fluid intake that it would move down into the "collection" portion of the organ....I feel better today (didn't needs any drugs lol) and I think it may have entered that area.

I think the "wait and see" approach is in effect as it has (and may not ever) left the kidney yet; it's not blocking anything at this juncture. No blood, according to the UA test and everything else looks normal, so at the moment the game plan is to drink, drink, drink! I hit the head a dozen times yesterday
