Kompressor install question

I have been thinking about getting the kleemann kompressor for my W209. However I am not sure how it would effect the value of the car, I am not sure if it would increase the value or substantially decrease it.

What do you guys think?

Any suggession for shops that does it in New England area?

That depends on who are you going to sell it to.

Robert has a good point. Porsche owners for instance prefer to buy a porsche that has not been modified at all. BMW owners however are willing to buy a car that is a little modified with no hesitation. Mercedes owners (my opinion) tend to steer towards more of the porsche mentality. It depends on the buyer in the end. Are they looking to buy a car that is already tuned or are they the type of buyer who is precautious about the previous owner's use of the car. Meaning, if you installed a supercharger on the car, they might think you are a racer-type and drive the car hard and fast, which there is nothing wrong w doing that. However, if the buyer is the conservative type, they perhaps want a car that was driven by a grandma who has no idea the car can go past 3k RPM.

I say DO IT! You can always remove the s/c and recoup part of the funds afterwards.

I think that after you do the Kleeman install you will not be thinking of parting with the car for a long while

Well that is another problem no matter how much I like a car, I always dream about then next one unfortunately. I am pretty sure 3-4 years I will be itching to upgrade.

But I guess I heard what I was afraid to hear. I see the mentality behind it, even though I wont be pushing the car hard, nobody could ever know that.

So question is "How much power is enough?"

My answer always have been: "Too much power :-)" that is the only reason I want the conversion.

No New Englanders here? Which shop you guys use?

The more money you spent on the car, the lower value it will go., (except on rims...)

personal experience.. had a supercharged v6 vw passat. lowered. full body kit , cams headers,,, every thing....... putting out 300whp.... want to trade it in ... dealer don't even want it... had to sell it private.. had a hard time selling it........ took me almost a year before some kid's mom think my passsat is slow and big enough sedan for his 18 years old son to buy
