2005 CLK55 Cab squeaks/rattles please help
I have a 2005 CLK55 and with the top up the vehicle rattles/squeaks more than I would like/expect. The car only has 3k miles on it, is there something you could suggest. The rattles/squeaks seem to be coming from where the top meets the A pilars and where the top meets the windows!
One other factor is I just recently added 19" Asanti rims tires and that did not help the ride, but they look incredible.
Thanks for the advise!

WD40 and silicone spray.....
WD40 for the spots where the top meets the a-pillers (metal on metal); silicone spray (Prestone makes it, in the yellow can) for the weather strips around the windows. On these, take a folded paper towel or a rag, spray the silicone onto it, and wipe onto the weather stripping, all the way around the door.
Also, if you have folding rear seats, spray the metal latches holding the seats in place w/either WD40 or silicone spray every so often. Lot of squeaking problems from those latches on this end!

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yeah, my Coupe also has these annoying squeaks from the windows and a rattle of some sort from the driver's door. Gonna have them sort it out during the next service.
I wanna try the silicone spray on the door seals though, But... wouldnt the silicone get on the windows then?

bump..
I can only hear the squeaks with music turned off and windows up. It would be great if any had already tried the silicon lub, speak up. Thanks guys.

Anyway, if you've got squeaks, it sounds more like metal on metal; the sound you get when the door seals are drying out sounds more like a rattle. Try the WD40 (or silicone) on the rear seat latches (the metal ones) on the fold-down rear seats. These need lubed from time to time...
Oh, and I've tried this, and it works.
