RK-CLK55

Purchase the EvoSport Underdrive Pulley kit for my 2004 CLK55. Had them installed by an experience Mercedes repair shop and notice that the RPM builds a bit more quickly after 2500 RPM. Can feel a bit more of power. Just wanted to inform other owners that the CLK55 from 2003 and up probably comes with a pulley on the Powering Steering Pump that is not removable. The installer checked with Mercedes and they also said that does not come off. Installed the pulley on the Water Pump and Alternator. Used the original Mercedes drive belt. The installer told me to keep an eye on the belt because it is a little tight. So far no problems after a 1000 km. Ending up costing 4 1/2 hours of labour instead of 2 hours as some said it should take. The installer took the Power Steering Pump completely off the engine, could not remove the pulley, made calls to Mercedes and Evosport, etc. and then put the Power Steering pump back on. When he called EvoSport a person on tech support was aware of the problem with the 2003 and up CLK55, which the original salesperson did not know. Still not a bad price for the extra power, maybe 8 hp instead of 12 hp. EvoSport will only sell this a kit. Just hope to save some other members the extra hassle of trying to install the pulley on the Power Steering pump.
