Test drove an 06 M Roadster:
Thought with an M3 motor and how light it is that it would be a rocket... well, that has certainly changed after a test drive.
I test drove a 6 speed stick one and yes, I'm a good stick driver. Anyhow, if you don't launch this thing there is no power down below. The HP is felt at the top of the band width, but is short lived. The lack of TQ is definetly noticeable. I still think that the M coupe is a pretty car, but I think it's a puss compared to ours. And yes, I understand that those cars handle better, but I don't do laps around a Vons where I live, so straight line is good enough for me.

I have some friends with the first generation M Roadster and M Coupe...great drivers, but tiring for a long trip. No way I'd last 600-800 miles in one of those.

I had a heavily modded M Roadster a few years back. By far one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. Too bad it started to fall apart and I had to dump it.
I think the previous model M Roadster looks so much more menacing then the current model.
