I am looking to buy a CLK, I just want a few questions answered.

Whats up everyone. I joined MB World just to check out a few things before I make the jump into Mercedes. I have an m3 right now, and I love the car, but I cant get away from how beautiful the CLK looks, and how much cleaner in my opinion the mercedes are than bmw's. Its different styling, but MB is just more of what I want. What has really turned me onto Mercedes is the CLK-DTM. I am in no position to get a CLK-DTM or anything so please dont misunderstand this thread. I searched through here for a few minutes before I made my account to see about the CLK-DTM widebody. It seemed like a lot of people were interested, and alot of people mentioned they might have a kit coming, but I didnt find an end result. Is there a kit you can buy to convert the CLK to the DTM Widebody like factory?

Thats one of my questions. I guess my next question would be, which model is the best to buy, I want the best performance. Braking, accel, etc. So if you can point me in the right direction I would appriciate it. I am completely new to the Mercedes world. I spend alot of time in the bmw and porsche scene.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the DTM kit, so can't help you there.

But as for the best model to buy, I suggest buying the newest CLK55 you can afford. Also, I like the Keyless Go option (push button start on gear shifter), too. AMG models should have the best braking and accel. #s out of the box, but neither the wifey or I was impressed w/ the suspension/handling and lowered it.

As for mods, look up companies like Renntech, Brabus, Kleeman, etc. for after-market upgrades. And I found my wife's car on Autotrader, maybe you'll have luck finding one w/ the color and options you're looking for there, too. Hope this helps you start out.

Well, if you want to save some money and loose some performance, the CLK500 ain't no slouch. I've run with M3's before in the past with no problem. But yeah, I feel like the CLK55 is the next step up from the M3...not performance but the whole car itself.

I've been looking desperately for DTM style widebody kits myself. It seems like nobody sells them, the only way to get one is to get it custom. Good luck, if you find any DTM kits, make sure to post!
