Atlanta AMG Meet Registration Deadline is TODAY!

AMG Enthusiasts:

As most of you are aware, the Atlanta AMG Meet is shaping up to be a truly phenomenal event happening November 4th/5th. The organizers have invested hundreds of hours planning this weekend.

To date, the response has been overwhelming and we anticipate a huge crowd throughout the weekend. We have hired the local Police Department for added security during the evening hours both on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you would like to attend, please request your registration today as certain portions of the event (lunch and dinner/banquet presentations) must have a guaranteed headcount in advance. The nominal fees being charged for lunch ($20) and dinner ($40) cover the food, tax and service charges at the Hilton. There is no charge for the photo shoot or spectating at the dyno runs.

TODAY IS THE DEADLINE IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND THE LUNCH OR BANQUET.

If you have not requested a registration packet, please do so by sending me an e-mail at AtlantaAMGMeet@hotmail.com

We'll see you in Atlanta!

Unfortunately it was the 55  They didnt get far though. They stashed it somewhere for 2 days and then drove it, tele aid picked it up on GPS, and police chase ensued which ended in a field and the car git stuck in 6" of mud! All in all it was about 10 miles put on the car and no major damage.

Sorry about what happened, it could have been worse I guess. I still believe you should come to the event.
They tape up race cars and keep running, so no excuses, tape it up and bring it on. Nobody will be thinking bad of you or your cars condition, they will want to see you and the car all the more!
It'll be cool, bandaged and still mean as hell.

Car-Jacking!?!?! What the hell is going on with people now a days anyway. And thank you MB for making teleaid possible. Tell me more about this, I am curious to know details. Did the Police make arrests? I am very happy to read you are well as this is the most important thing of course. That CLK55 does not do very well in half an inch of snow, less in the mud. Thank goodness they were dumb carjackers and did not know a thing about the car's gps capabilities. Knuckleheads!

Yup, I got car jacked. I'll try to keep it short. While I was pumping gas someone stole my cell out of my car (windows were down). I didnt notice the cell was missing so I drove off. I called my cell thinking it was under my seat or somewhere in the car form a friends cell and the guy picks up and says to come back to the gas station and he will give back my cell. I go back and recognize the guy that has my cell. He had been standing by my car on the payphone when I was pumping gas, at this point I get VERY suspicious and start to think he stole my phone. So I pull up and ask for my phone. He asks for a "reward" in exchange for finding my cell. "I would have given you a reward without you askin, all i have on me is $20 cash." Then he starts saying that the phone is worth hundreds and bla bla bla. I said its my phone and if you dont return it to me i'll just call the cops because I know you stole it. Keep in mind this is noon with plenty of people at the gas station. As soon as I open the door to get the phone he pushes me, jumps in the car and takes off! I ran into the gas station and the guy wouldnt let me call 911!!!!!!! The guy in the repair shop lets me use his phone and the cops dont show up for 20 minutes. All they did was take a statement and leave. I asked them to take finger prints off the phone he was using and they said no. I told them I had the plates of someone he knew (some guy walked by him and said "wussup chinaman"), they said they didnt want it. I said the whole thing is on the ga sstation surveilance camera, they say they dont need it. I was VERY mad at the way it was handled. Anyways, I found out the car didnt have teleaid and signed up for it that night. 2 days later they located the car and a police chase ensued. It ended shortly because the idiot ran into about 6" of mud and got stuck. All 3 suspects were arrested. There was about 10 miles give or take put on the car, maybe even less. Thankfully I got it back with minimal damage.

Wow, that is one for the books. Ya, I did deactivated the teleaid after you got home with the car but I guess they still were able to trace it...good. 10 Miles is nothing, maybe the drive home to stash it and that is it. You should be sure to charge them with 1 count of assualt and 2 counts of theft. Jail time is a sure thing. My guess is that the district attorney will handle it from this point but be sure he gets all the evidence he needs to put these people away. Amazing as well the reaction of the police and the gas attendant. People are insane.

Again, glad you and the car are ok.

Thanks. Apparently the guy stole the car and hid it somehwere for 2 days, the decided to go for a joyride and got caught. He was located and apprehended within a few miles of the scene of the crime. He's definitely doing time, he's also being charged with evading police. One of the passengers tried stealing my watch and will also be charged with that as well. I never got my cell back and he stole my jacket and sweater as well. It could've been much worse! Car is at the body shop right now to see how much damage was done. Hows the family Learso?

We are doing well here in Boston, thanks. Adjusting to a life of SUVs for the time being. Going to St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands in two weeks for the first real vacation in a while for us, can't wait. Remember the EBay problems? I almost got scammed on ebay/paypal but was lucky enough to recover the watches before they left in the FedEx truck. Paypal and EBay both suspended my account perminantly because the accounts were involved in fraudulant activity. Apparantly, it makes no difference if you are the victim because they just can't ever really tell so the close all your accounts. Kinda pissed about it but what can you do? I am setting up a new account on EBay and PayPal to continue selling my watches that I buy as a hobby. The latest one is the all white gold Daytona with the dark grey face and red markers. I bought it literally 1 week before Rolex increased ALL their prices across the board. The watch retails now for $27,900.00, an increase of over 2Gs in a week. So anyone out there who owns a Rolie, it just went up in value.

As for the future as far as cars are concerned, I am right now focusing on getting a new construction home before splurging on another semi-exotic. Cest La Vie.
