They scoped the cylinder and found nothing. No scratches, no holes in the piston, it all looked good. Thats why they think the rings are the problem. Never thought about them lining up. I will run it by the mechanic.
No nitrous. Never will, don't believe in it. Bottle empty=no more power. 1 burp=blown motor. Not a combination I like.
No visible damage, I would button it up and drive it for a few days before disassembly to see if the rings will move themselves. I repaired that other one while it was under warranty. I've seen one other one do a single cylinder, but three on one car was beating some serious odds.
I hope that it what it is. but I would temper myself until I know EXACTLY what is wrong. I wouldn't call it a "BLOWN" engine yet.
If the rings turn out to be damaged, you still will have to find the real problem as they would be a victim of, not the problem. I call it an autopsy.
