I assume from the post that this would also work on the CLK's (2001 and 2002)? How is this different than removing the ESP fuse?

As posted by MBTEK regarding Dyno Mode:
IN THE DIAG. CONNECTOR (MUSHROOM 38 PIN) JUMP PINS 1 AND 6. THEN START CAR UP. HIT YOUR 0 BUTTON 2 TIMES OR SO TO TAKE THE MESSAGES OFF THE SCREEN. YOU ARE NOW IN DIAG MODE. ABS,BAS,ESP LIGHTS WILL BE ON BUT THERE SHOULD BE NO INTERVENTION ON THE THROTTLE CONTROL OR THE BRAKES APPLYING. BASICALLY IT'S OLD SCHOOL DYNO MODE.

TURN CAR OFF AND REMOVE JUMPER, THERE SHOULD BE NO CODES PRESENT AND IT'S BACK TO NORMAL. I'VE DONE THIS QUITE A FEW TIMES W/ NO PROBLEMS.

ANOTHER IDEA IS TO TAP INTO THE #6 WIRE AND RUN IT INSIDE THE CAR TO A TOGGLE SWITCH, OTHER SIDE TO GRD., AND THEN USE THE SAME PROCEDURE, JUST EASIER AND READILY AVAILABLE. IF THE KEY IS ON WHEN YOU GO TO SWITCH MODES NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, FROM WHAT I FOUND. THIS WORKS ON CARS AS FAR BACK AS THE 124 500E. IF THE CAR HAS ASR,ESP, THIS WILL WORK. I'M NOT SURE ON CARS W/ ETS LIKE ML'S, I'VE NEVER TRIED. I NOW HEAR ALOT OF FEET RUNNING TO THE GARAGE, HAPPY TIRE BURNING. LITEMUP.

As an aside, where is this on a W208:

ABS motor under the hood.
