Reviving an old old thread guys.
I am considering going with the 2 piece SL style wheels this time, and need to make sure if I need spacers or not.
Any chance I can go 235's front and 265's rear?

My experience is the 265s rub in the rear - just very slightly and only when a road dip or when my trunk is full, etc.

I had no issues with 235s in front. I’m on stock suspension and have euro-spec springs which is slightly lower than U.S. Spec.

I switched to 225 in front and 255 in rear and they work beautifully - no spacers needed.

Good luck and post pics when you get them mounted!

Thank you, Chappy, much appreciated.
It's just cause I'm getting conflicting information from other W208 owners who have these installed and are lowered, claiming no rubbing.

The reason I ask is that I have 265/35's on my Monoblock 2's right now and have no rubbing issues.
I'm on Euro suspension from the factory.

I will test fit using my R129 wheels before I move forward. I can't believe that didn't cross my mind LOL.

Ahmed, I had the exact same tire sizes when I was running the 18x8 and 18x9 monoblock 2s from a W210 E55. I too had no rubbing with 235/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear.

When I had those tires remounted on the 2-piece wheels, the rears rubbed when I had the trunk loaded or went over dips in the road. It was very slight rubbing (caused no damage) but did start seeing slight marks on the tires. I deemed that to be unsafe, so after further research on here, I learned the F1 Safety car ran the 2–piece aero wheels (front and rear have ET25 offset) mounted with 225/40-18 front and 255/35-18 in rear. I experienced no additional issues once I switched.

Hope this helps! Please post pics once you get them mounted. 😎

Hi guys

I know it's been a long time but life got in the way and put off the refurbishment issue to the side.
Anyways, wheels shop took the wheels today and they should be refurbished and ready in a couple of days.
Earlier this year I decided to go back to stock tire sizes after installing 235's and 265's with 12mm spacers in the rear. I had rubbing in the front when turning and i really wanted to lower the car in the future.
So right now I have 225's and 255's on my 18" Monoblock 2 wheels (8x18 ET31 & 9x18 ET35).. car rides great again and guess what? transmission doesn't act up anymore due to wheel speed sensor issue.

So here's the deal, I will swap out the tires from my existing wheels to the 2 piece BBS ones and install them on the car.
I am looking at @neilbo75 Neilbo's pictures and @Richard75 Richard's as well, it seems that on Richard's car, the wheels offsets are aggressive ( wheels stick out more )

So the question is... can I lower the car after that? I have already ordered a set of H&R springs for the car.
Here's the fitting chart for the wheels in question:

Here's a video of my car in motion, as you can see, I need my fronts lowered.
