2OO2 CLK55 AMG CONVERTIBLE
Noise Coming From My Left Axle/wheel/tire Area

Good Day MBW'ers....
New AMG Kid on the block here....
i have a 2002 CLK55 AMG and whenever I back out of my garage and I cut my steering wheel to the left to make a left turn, I hear a sound coming from the left wheel/axle/tire area. An independent MB specialist diagnosed it as axle ball joint issue (after we test drove the car and he heard the sound in an empty parking lot).
Has/does anyone else have the same issue?
I am being rather prudential because I just got taken for a $1700 ride by MB of Buckhead in Atlanta (thought I needed a throttle actuator per an independent MB diagnosis for my rough idling only to find out I needed a MAF sensor that costs $330 at the most on ebay. They sold it for $450 + 300 labor....and they still didn't take the throttle actuator back or give me credit towards the replacement of my MAF sensor).
So any light that can be shone on the noise coming out of that left area when I make a sharp turn will be appreciated...

Cheers,
DarkVader55AMG

I haven't had your issue, but you may want to hit up "mbenzman" - a fellow CLK55 cab owner, E55, ML 55 and 500E owner. His shop is in Roswell.

Welcome.

$300.00 labor for a MAF??????

that is highway robbery!!! I just replaced mine yesterday....bought the part at an independent dealer for $300.00, and installed it myself in less than 7 minutes.
