Clk 55 Brakes & Rotors
Hey guys. New member here but I own a 02 silver Clk 55. I just had H&R Springs installed yesterday which looks amazingly sick and rides just as good as it looks. But I had a few questions about my brakes and rotors.
1. Would anyone recommend purchasing different rotors than the stock amg ones for replacement.
2. Tried to take of my caliper to inspect everything and I could not get it off. I took off the two torxs bit bolts on the caliper and that seemed to be no help. Is there something I'm missing here. I am new to this Mercedes game but I am very mechanically inclined and I can't get them off and I don't want to use force because I might break something else that is going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix.

2003 AMG SL55, 2002 AMG CLK55, 2002 AMG ML55, 2005 ML350, 1995 S320 LWB - totaled
The factory brakes on our W208 CLK 55 are very good. Discs are 2 piece units. I believe the rotors and calipers are made by ATE. I have run mine hard on the track and performed flawlessly.
Unless you are going to Brembo or AP or Stoptech full kits I would not start mixing and matching components.
