CLK 55 AMG Rims

I just got an '01 and love it. Got it from a dealer who got it on trade in from a guy who absolutly did everything right. Even had only 28k miles. My only complaint is the dealer took the damn rims off that the guy had left there. I haden't seen them and I'm not depressed with the stock mono rims, but I'd really like to see some true AMG silver double spokes on there. If anyone can point me to a proper place to get them, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been told (by the dealer, so I took it with a grain of salt) that some people really like the monos, so an ideal thing for me would be to trade them out.

Secondly, is there a proper way to get the windows lightly tinted?

Obviously, I am new to the luxury car forum so I very much appreciate any help.

Regards,

personally, I think the stock 17" AMG AERO II's look better on the W208, than the split spoke 17's on the C32, however, if those are the ones you want, I would suggest you check out the classifieds on this board....and if you don't have any luck there, just hit up Tire Rack....they ALWAYS have AMG's in stock.

Welcome and congrats on the 01 purchase.

I have a 01 and like the monoblock look over the c class spoked wheels. If you don't want the monoblock then upgrade to an 18 or 19" rim with a larger rim width in the rear (9.5 or 10) to handle a 265 or 275 tire. Stock will go to about 255. You will do this at some point so why not now

You may also want to consider lowering the car to get away from the 5 finger SUV gap from the fender to the tire. I rec. H&R springs, which with the proper bump stop, can lower the car to a 1 to 2 finger gap- much more aggressive and it handles better as well.

Good luck.

Thanks Ashutt. The car is actually lowered already. Being the rookie, I don't know how much, but by my estimation its about 1-2". I've read a lot about the H&R springs and I should probably assume that this is what is one there, but I defninitly need to check. Will take a look tomorrow. Do you know if I can just put the 18's on there or do I need to do more mods? Thanks for the post and for the congrats.

haters crazy
I have 18" AMG monoblocks on my CLK430 and love em. The 18" W211 E55 wheels look pretty good on a clk too but the front rubs a little.

Did you buy the car from House? Silver with Black Interior. I think you bought my car. Does the car have a trunk liner in it? Does the license end in 994?

I took off the 19" Brabus. I still have them. PM me if you are interested in buying them. I can send you pictures of the car with the Brabus wheels on it. The wheels actually tucked into the fender a little.

If you actually bought my old car, the factory wheels and tires have less than 1000 miles on it. I also left the factory AMG springs in the H&R box in the trunk. I am not sure if the dealer took it out or not. The AMG Springs are also made from H&R. The car originally came with the Black Bilstein Shocks, but one corner leaked. So I changed them out to the yellow Bilstein all the way around.

I did get it from the house. I sent a PM. Isn't technology sweet. How do you like the new car? They said you got a convertable. Maybe we can do a direct deal 7 years from now.
