i have seen clk 430's n such with amg gfx n wheels but no badges if i recall. i think there is a factory option to deck out some of the cars with amg parts.
lol, i debadged mine and just left the amg badge so someone would assume its a base model. heh
edit: sad part is most people don't know what models should be an AMG and what models should not and even worse most people I talk to don't even know what AMG means.
edit: the analogy i most often use is AMG to Merc is like SVT to ford

I can tell by the exhaust, brakes, seats if its real amg. The best is when they talk about 3 numbers AMG, ex. 550 AMG, 500 AMG.
People who know what AMG is know its fake, only fooling yourself.
Poster above is referring to a "Sport" or AMG appearance pkg that you can get on regular benz.
Our CLS550 is a "Sport" with AMG wheels and AMG stamped exhaust, body kit.

2001 CLK55 AMG
Walks? On dragtimes.com the two ET's for CLK550's are both slower than my ET in a bone stock 2001 CLK55. Now you wanna talk big, go document your own ET, post it on drag times, and stop running your mouth. Because right now there is very little evidence that a 550 is 'walking' a CLK55. Like Blackbenz's siggy says, run your car, not your mouth.

even if it did thats even if it did, the CLK55 was in production before the CLK550 came out, but the CLK63 which was in the production same years as 550 will demolish/destroy/embarrass a CLK550 so know your stuff before you talk and do a fair comparison!

right and thats not a fair comparison!!! Because if they made the 550 putting out 380hp at the same time they made the 55, the 55 would'nt put out only 360hp!!! in other words a AMG will always be faster than its Merc version!

Only one who is uninformed would compare unlike vehicles...real comparison is between the stock and AMG version of the same chassis designation...
In the case of the CLK550 which is the W209 chassis it's quite diminutive compared to the AMG version, especially the BS

funny how it walks a clk55 yet you are buying badges because you want to be one. Im not hating on getting amg upgrades like brakes and what not but when you buy a clk55 badge you are put into another category

You're comparing apples with oranges!!! Clk550 came out 5 years later than the clk55!!! And it still can not outperform the old clk55, why don't race a same year clk63 if you re such hot ****!!!

Really? i came across people that bought their very first Merc it was about 6 years ago. a W210 E320 with amg body kit and wheels and AMG badges on the back and the guy paid for an AMG and not the 320 that the car was. did he deserve to pay for that? and you gonna jump on saying he should've done some research, the guy had just moved here from eastern Europe and barely spoke English!
