LS7 powered Corvette
Forget about Kleeman/55K blower swaps. Everyone knows the turbocharger is the only way to go. Problem would be getting the fuel supply and finding someone that could tune it. The 208 with M113 happens to be a good platform as the right front of the engine compartment is void of the M112 air intake. Make manifolds, a crossover, mount a single turbo over there, front mount, downpipe, make an intake and call it a day... lol
edit: I feel like Kleeman/Renntech mods are ridiculous. They market products for 10x what they are actually worth in other aftermarket segments just because of the Brands they work on. Granted it takes a lot more money to develop/test products on 100k + cars.. A full custom dyno tune on a blown mustang cobra with basic mods such as Renntech/Kleeman sells will only cost you around $300-$500. How the hell does a mail order Flash cost $3495!!! Btw I only used the mustang as comparison bc they generally do the same things; pulley, exhaust, air intake, etc.

...........wellcome to Mercedes. Don't bother to test. The accessories are controlled by several SAM modules which talk to the ECU which is SCN coded to the VIN.
........Again, NO........you cannot just take a W211 ECU and plug it into a W208. First of all, the W208 uses a MAF sennsor, the W211 does not. You are so green on this issue that you should save yourself the waste of time. As chappy has mentioned, you can elect to rewire the entire car yourself if you please. There are big companies like Brabus that have swapped MB engines such as the Brabus EV12. That car is $300,000. Yes three hundred thousand dollars.
.........All this was interesting when the AMG CLK had much less HP than the rest of the AMG line up. With the CLK63, this is no longer the case. Now, what MB needs to do is to introduce the CLK63 coupe to the US market. It appears that whatever the acceleration advantage of the CLK63 has over the E63 and CLk63 convertible, is due to a gear ratio change. This can easily be accomplished in a CLK63 coupe by swapping diffs and transmission control modules. This I know can be done.

Sorry to bring back this old post... so you're saying the CLK63 coupe wasn't released in the US? Only the convertible clk63? And acceleration is slower in the convertible than the coupe?
I'm looking to replace my 98 Clk320 (my first car actually) I've had since 2010. 181k on it now with rough idle and I'm not sure it's worth putting money into it at this mileage. I want the speed of a 63 or at least 55 but I love this body low on 19s more than the second gen clk63. Since apparently a 63 in the 1st gen clk chasis seems out of question, I'm left with an 2nd gen clk63 amg or 08/09 c63.
So is the clk63 coupe faster than the convertible? And if so, is the coupe available in the US? I'm really only seeing ragtop clk63's

interesting read indeed. something to keep in mind for the future. tbh, the thought has already crossed my mind in regards to completely changing the interior systems just bc I hate them. lol.
the multiple modules definitely presents a huge complication.
it is not something I am presently considering but perhaps in the future I may look into it deeper.
just out of curiosity, is it feasible to get 450hp out of the stock engine with simple bolt-ons?
aka headers, exhaust, air box, pulleys, intake manifold porting?
or does one need to go deeper and mess with the cylinder heads? has anyone ever had any head work done and if so what were the gains? TBH I am completely unfamiliar with the design of the heads engine so please excuse me for that.
lastly, i see that the modules are finicky to put it lightly. can the cam timing be changed and tuned appropriately or no?
