Sometimes it works better and sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone know what the problem is and approximately how much it will cost to repair?Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

This is rather cute than anything else. Here are a some pointers for ya:1. Make sure the gas pump is fully inserted into the gas tank before pulling the "trigger."
2. Once you are convinced that the pump is fully inserted, double check to make sure you've selected the 91 octane grade of gas by pressing the octane pad or lifting up the lever.
3. Take a look at the gas meter, assuring that it blinked a few times before setting itself to all "zero's"
4. After all the above checks out fine, now it's ok to pull the trigger!
5. All gas pumps have a lock per se located in the back where one can lock up the trigger so that the pump will release gas without the trigger being pulled. Always try doing this and usually if you can do this then your good to go and obviously you're doing everything correct. However, if you aren't able to keep the gas flowing by "locking" the trigger to pump by itself, chances are it's probably a bad pump.
6. Lastly, if you're reading this and thinking (Like I am) this Martymar guy must think I'm an idiot and had the audacity to provide instructions on how to pump gas!
then you would be correct! You asked for help so here I am
Goodluck and again welcome!
I would guess that there is some interterence or back pressure being created by the hinged plate inside the neck with certain pumps. Changing the angle of attack seem to eliminate the issue for me.
