Finally getting HnR springs for my CLK!!
#26
I got it here https://mbworld.org/forums/suspension-braking/254127-h-r-springs-w209-clk500-new.html
You may be thinking, this is for a CLK500 not a 55 AMG. Well, they share the same part number. CLK500 has two spring options and this part number is the same as the one for the 55.
I also dropped by the Mercedes Dealership today. They can't tell me exactly which spring pads I have but they did say that there is no front spring pad in the front but there is in the rear. There are 4 Spring Pad options, from thinnest to thickest, 5mm, 9mm, 13mm, 17mm. These correlate to part numbers 1, 2, 3, 4.

Brabus springs are also the same, whether for CLK500 or CLK55. Kind of interesting as the 55 is heavier. However, when you compare it on both cars, the drop looks EXACTLY the same!
With regard to the pads, I know messing with those was common practice in the W208, but I have never heard of changing them in the W209. Please let me know if it is possible though, as I still have a tiny bit of rubbing in the rear when driving the car hard, so that is a potential fix for me.

I was in no rush to get them and I was just waiting for a deal to come by. I got lucky right there hehe. I don't think I will have them installed in 2 weeks though. Things came up and I will probably get it done it October after I deal with the warranty stuff.
To the OP, post photos when you lower it!

s4avt, any updates???
Like MikeL said, there are Spring Pads. I don't know if they are all one size though.
I frequent 2 Dealerships and they both tell me for the W209, there are only Spring Pads in the rears. Looking up my VIN# and after calculation they tell me that I have a 5mm Spring Pad in the Rears and I could double check by the Burls on them. 1 Signifies 5mm, 2 - 9mm, 3 - 13mm, 4 - 17mm.
I am going to double check myself and probably order the 17mm so it should sit 12mm/.5inch higher than what it should be at. I am still debating whether it would be enough to make the front and rear even when its lowered.
Scheduled lowering next Sunday!

Do you have part #'s for the spring pads? I am VERY interested in changing to a thicker pad if it is possible.
Thanks for the investigative work!!!!!!!! Much appreciated
