hi guys,

im new to this forum. i live in toronto, canada.

just bought myself a 2004 clk 55 amg couple of days ago. will pick it up very soon.

i just want to make sure i got a decent deal. hope you guys can help me out.

here is the rundown:

100% ACCIDENT FREE VEHICLE,NEW ARRIVAL,HAND CRAFTED 362 HP AMG ENGINE,ACTIVE BODY CONTROL SYSTEM,ADAPTIVE BI XENON HEAD LAMPS,REAR SUNSHADE,AMG ALLOY WHEELS,POWER SUNROOF,DYNAMIC MULTI FUNCTION SEATS,BOSE SOUND SYSTEM WITH FACTORY CD CHANGER,AMG GROUND EFFECT PKG WITH AMG REAR TRUNK SPOILER LIP,BAL OF M_BENZ BUMPER TO BUMPER WARR UNTIL JULY,28,2009,ONE OWNER VEHICLE FROM M_BENZ CANADA,LEASING AND FINANCING AVAILABLE,4 BRAND NEW TIRES INCLUDED,PLEASE CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT.

That was the ad above from autotrader. I walked in and to make the long story short, I pretty much got this car for tax free. (talked it down from 37000 to 315000. plus $550 admin fee + tax = $36 something...)

Does everyone think its a decent deal? after i paid my deposit, the owner of the dealership came to me and told me that they actually lost $ on this vehicle. and told me his loss was my gain. i thought it was just another sales pitch.

PLEASE REPLY! i didnt pick up the car yet. so in a way, i COULD just get my deposit back.

THANKS!!

Lost money? I don't think so.
You can be sure that the dealership didn't lose a cent on the deal.
That statement is a common one used to make the buyer have more confidence in the deal (and a bigger smile on his face) before he leaves the dealership driveway. It might improve their chance for a repeat sale sometime in the future. I have been told that numerous times.
As long as you think you got a good deal, that is all that counts.

A "good" deal is defined as

"When all interested parties are in agreement with the price, the terms and the conditions".

Simply stated, you gave up enough money, and they gave up the car.
They are happy, and you are happy. Good deal.

Congratulations!!!
