So I bought an HID kit for my w209 clk55 and installed them, they work fine when the car is off but when the car is running they just flicker and turn off, the rest of the lights flicker as well (interior and exterior) any ideas?

HID Kit for what?? headlight ? foglight?? you need to get one of those Error Canceller.

It is the head lights, thanks for the help. Is this common, I installed quite a few on my various cars and never had a problem like this

You will need to get the error cancelator like M-benz said or go to the dealership and get them to set "Xenon Present" with the STAR diagnostic tool. It has to do with the power difference between the halogen bulbs and HID ballasts that the ecu is seeing.

some ballest is already build in u dun need to get the canceller ... for example: Mtec kit no need just straight install is fine..

You need the error cancelor i had the same problem on my headlights to took it to the mb dealer and they could not change the ecu to xenon to present so took it back to the shop my boi over there had the the error cancel resitors so it runs 55w to 35w it worked great no problems no flicker works perfect i got 10k heads and 10k fogs im thinking of doin 30k heads soon
