Check out post #12 of this thread. He seems to have fixed the problem. I would use that as reference when you take it to the dealer.

Im intrigueg by this yellow stuff you mentioned... It sure does not sound right and how could the mechanic or tech not know what it is?

Oh man, almost forgot all about this thread. Well as it turned out it wasn't the fuel pump relay like we had hoped. Date of this thread is May 2009. After replacing the fuel pump relay the first time the car died again in late July 2009. Again they replaced the fuel pump relay and it was good for a little bit. Then in March 2010 the car died again. This time it was the fuel pump itself. According to the dealership the bad pump kept blowing out the relay.
So the total bill for the new fuel pump:

$2,278.81

Thats total, parts/labor and tax.

So far not a single problem with anything. (knock on wood)

Only thing I've had done since March 2010 is oil changes.

post# 12 sounds about right , but i dont think ill be getting away with that price at the dealer ..my problem .. no start only crunks, changed cps, now no start at all, everything works radio cluster etc. my mechanic pluged in in ghe computer, but computer not responding..wth..nightmare..

after fixin it hopefully..im gona sell it and get a practical car.. my clk 430 never gave me a problem but my clk 55 is a nightmare . its nice and fast car but it doesnt do the job from a to b.

Please some one help!!!

After getting the error code for the cps
I changed the crankshaft position sensor
. So now when the car is on and parked for about 10 minutes it turnes of ! Then I Waite then trying to turn it on it cranks but nothing then it finally turns on . But then I get the same ****ing code again cps ? But I just replaced it ?
I have no ****ig ideah what's wrong with this car man. Some times it accelerates by its self

Let me guess. you did not buy the part from the dealer or get a Bosh replacement. If I am right your replacement is probably DOA.

yeah but its brand new 12 hours old? and it can still cause all these symtoms ? how about the car turning of by its self after sitting for 10 min?

what is the correct brand or part i have to replace it with ? its a 2004 clk 500 w209

There is a reason I assumed and I was correct. Don't cheap out on parts its not worth it.

yeah thats the one arriving today il let you know how it goes . but the weird thing is the first one i bought was way more money than the bosch. and i hope this fixes the problem of the car turning of after 10 min on park. do you know the reason for that?

There could be a number of reason. If you are still getting the CPS code then it is most likely the part heating up and not making the correct contact/readings. The most apparent sign of a CPS failing is the car stalling when it is warm.

Just because something cost more doesn't make it better. There is a tone of info on this site and Google is your best friend when it comes to car repair. Do some good searching and you will find answers to the most common problems and usually the suggestions on replacement parts.

Dollars to doughnuts the new CPS fixes the issue.

also the fan is spinning high

Have you had your battery tested? also these codes are not for the PCS but the TPS. The code P0600 was set when the ECM recognized a loss of communication and control over one or more of these modules for eight consecutive starts.

Like I said above do some searching. You also might want to start posting in the correct forum so people with the same car as you can chime in .

my battery is brand new, battery,alternator , sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, mas is new ,cps is new .

so what should i check? because when i start my car fan turns on loud *** well, im going to go see if it does that now still. but with those codes what should i be checking for
