news on 55 cab and DVD nav
got some news from a contact at DC in germany:
the CLK 55 AMG will be released at the same time as the other models (Germany
05/2003, USA 09/2003). The the navigation system is based on DVD.
On the Geneva Motor Show (4. 3.2003) you will find a press kit with more photos
and information about the CLK cabriolet. If you have any further questions
don´t hesitate to contact us.
I re-emailed him and asked about 320vs350 and when E class DVD nav will be available, when he contacts me I will provide the info

I work in the same industry. The ML serries will have NAV system with DVD OE to MB by Alpine. The current CD based nav system in all ML are also from Alpine. All other classes of MB vehicles will have DVD based nav system from Becker (Harman Kardon). Becker is replacing the current nav system provided by Bosch. The Becker system is much nicer looking than the Bosch Command system.
