Are you any of you familiar with having a loud fan noise when the engine gets hot enough and auxilliary fan kicks on. It sounds almost like the emergency warning system alarm that sounds when there is a tornado warning.
Dealer said it's normal especially for CLK like mine. My personal mechanic said it shoudn't be that loud and that the fan motor is going bad but he said to just wait till it goes kaput.
Any input appreciated.

Mine is very loud too, I think it is just a very powerful fan and make a loud noise. My sisters BMW fan is just as loud so I think you are ok it is just going off a little easier with the 100 deg. days we have been having.

yeah, weather has been crazy hot even for this time of year.
BTW, have you ever eaten at Salt Lick BBQ near Austin? I just saw a feature on it today on TV and I felt like driving down there (fast) to try it.

Cooper's probably further than what i'd want to drive. even salt lick looks far enough. for me even Rudy's was pretty good I thought. Ate there when visiting barton creek resort a few years ago.
