Beep / Alarm from Right Front?

Beep / Alarm from Right Front?
I've got a '04 CLK55.
Tonight I hit the key-fob to lock the doors and a beeping sound started...beeps in 3 second intervals then quits after about 3 minutes. There's no malfunction on the internal display. No warnings, just beeping. It sounds like it's coming from the right front wheel well.
It's not the theft alarm. I hit the panic button to sound that thinking it might clear it up. It did not.
Anyone know what this is?

Are you sure it's not the alarm? Mine beeps three times on lock and once on unlock.
I will be getting it switched off at the next dealer visit.
Or does the alarm have an individual battery ?? Maybe it's going dead or something?
On another note the other day I left my car unlocked outside in the sun.... and it also started beeping....for a few minutes and then would stop ?
Maybe it's the same thing you're talking about. Anyway hopefully someone else here can help you as I only just got the car.
(oops I see yours is the newer model... so it may be completely different... not sure)
