Best way to protect your rear bumper?
Ok,,
This is like 7th Time happening to me.
I parked my car on the street (parallel parking) and
somebody hit is and scratched (pretty bad this time) my rear bumper.
I can see the burn mark on my bumper with white and blue paint..
wtf!!! do you guys have any good tip to protect your rear bumper from retards?

Stand by the rear bumper while holding a pump-action.
Joking aside, I'm really sorry to hear the news.
Unfortunately, that is one of the reason's why I hardly take my car into rush hour traffic or built up areas.
I hate these cretins too.
That really have no place driving a car in my opinion.
There isn't really much available for rear bumpers.
Some sort of scratch guard may work (the see-through sticker things), but may spoil the look of the car.

A gun may work.
I'd say painting both bumbers flat (primer) black so you can repair the scratches and dings yourself. Else, with city parking, bumper damage is too common.
Orange parking cones, clear plastic protective warp, lining the outer bumper with barbed wire...not much confidence in those working to prevent damage.

It was the worst situation where parallel parking on a down hill..
anyway, I buffed as soon as I came home, but the damage is too big to buffed off.. paint and molding is burnt by friction...
I might get a orange cone : )

Others just drape down the back, like a thick blanket.
I've always questioned whether or not the guards would end up scratching the car themselves though.
I mean, imagine you've just driven somewhere.
The car is dirty, from general environment crap. You know, the silt-like layer on the car.
You get out and put your guard on.
After a few times of this, surely the guard will rub against the paint enough to cause scratches?
Cone sounds like a better idea.
Or buy a cheap run-around car for general use?
(Which is what I might find myself doing soon!)
