Chipped my rotor...help

So yesterday I was changing my drag link and I accidentally hit my rotor with a hammer and chipped the end about an inch(where the brake pad barely touches it)...now when I rotate the rotor with my hand it turns until it it hits the brake pads and stops...what can I do about this I don't wanna change my rotor cuz it's pretty new, should I just drive it when i'm done with the car and it will force it to make it all smooth again or should I take it to machine shop and get it smoothed out...thx...

I understand your frustration, especially being that it's a new rotor and all.

But you really need to change it.

You really don't want your wheel jamming up while at speed!

Not what you want to hear, I'm sure.

But look after yourself AND your car.
