E55 Motor Conversion

Im curious as to why many w209 and w203 owners dont just do an engine/tranny conversion with an e55 motor? I have heard its pretty much plug and play.

Right now im building my car from the ground up i.e suspension, wheels and bbk to recieve a 55k motor in the near future.

I dont get why people bother trying to sc these na motors and always end up with reliability issues.

If you drop a 55k motor in there is no need to modify it as your pushing near to 500hp.

Has anyone done a conversion yet?

Mike

I asked the dealership to do that for me when I blew my engine. they said it is a hard process to do and they assured me that I will run into problems. so I backed off and just got an NA engine

Money One has been swapping an E55K motor into a C43, which should be similar to swapping one into a CLK55. You can read about it here:
