What is the best, most appropriate, correct way to lower one? Specifically a 2004 CLK55.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I would say that depends on your goals...and your budget. What drop are you hoping to achieve?

It really depends on what kind of drop you want. There are a few things to take into consideration like wheels, springs and suspension.
It is recommended to change your stock suspension when putting on lowering springs. Bilstein/Koni are some companies for suspension. There are different brand springs like H&R/Eibach/Vogtland. H&R's being more sporty (lower) and the other two more comfort (higher). Will you be staying on your stock wheels or going bigger?
Then there is always coilovers...

I used Vogtlands on my old C32 and liked them a lot. Not too low which was what I was looking for. I may use them again on my C55 (which has the CLK front end) but I'm not sure if it even needs lowering...

Thanks for the compliment. I purchased the RennTech Monolites and tires from another member here for $3,000.Originally Posted by M-bENZ

I didn't like the height of the Vogtland's, I ended up switching back to my H&R's
