W208 clk 55 transmission shifting issue
I'm a new owner of a clk 55 amg. Im new to german cars period. As such I'm working on the small issues I find here and there. The w/s switch was broken when I first got the car yesterday. To drive performance wise I decided to shift manually however most of the time no matter how many times I bump that shifter it will not come out of 1 when I want it to. I've even tried to short shift with limited success.
I found and re-attached the little plastic flag for the optical sensor to put the tranny back into s mode and it works fine but I still get the same result when trying to shift myself.
Is this normal? Also the reason I still do it manually is for some reason it feels like it has more power that way. It will allow mento shift out of 1 after I release the accelerator or it bumps the rev limiter both of which are counter-productive.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.s. I do not currently have high speed where I live so I'm depending on my iPhone for the moment in edge mode so doing a search would have taken me forever. Ty.
