help please: need comments or words of caution before buying 68k mile 2006 clk amg
its a very clean one owner car
looks like all service has been done
just a little worried about the mileage
i will be getting extended warranty
any thoughts advice comments

Make sure its got a full service book and any bills that go with it - I would look for front rotors/pads being changed recently and probably plug change as well - I bought mine with 80k on it but got the dealer to drop price due to both of above needing to be done (and some bodywork). In the UK there are some with over 160k and even one with 230k on it - so I don't think mileage is number one - condition is!!

p.s. I previously had S55 with 113k miles so I'm very familiar and comfortable with these cars going 200k+ miles. In particular, I'm very glad CLK55 has trad'l suspension and not ABC or airmatics.

I've just been talking to extended warranty company for my 2000 CLK55 and they said 1) Need inspection - at home or work 2) Max is Warranty Directs "Silver cover" - so does not include air con etc so a bit like your platinum cover - but cover most items otherwise 2 ) £850 per year so 2 years in $ ish $2700
