After replacing the alternator, evaporator, coils, countless alignments, I traded in the CLK55 last weekend. The straw (straws) that broke the camel's back were broken seat heater ($1400), steering wheel issues ($2200) and leaking refridgerant (god knows how much to fix that problem). I traded in the AMG for something much more practical (SUV) and will wait couple of years before buying a fun weekend car. Overall, I am very disappointed in Mercedes quality. My next car will most likely be a Porsche (had them in the past and they were very reliable). It's been fun. Thank you for all the great tips and information.

PS I have rear brake pads and cabin filter if anyone is interested. Just make me a decent offer and I will ship it off.

Sorry about your experience.
How many owners before you?
How many miles?

I've had my 2nd hand 04clk55 for 10 mo's now and the only issue was some front end parts (under warranty), and a Mass Air Meter $180 replaced myself.

This is good info to have about pricing after our warranties end.

Has anyone successfully serviced their own clk?
