IPhone / Ipod Touch intergration into factory stereo
With some information found here and elsewhere, I will attempt to add an iphone/ ipod touch docking wire to the factory tape head unit.
If all goes well, the tape function will be hijacked by the line level out in the ipod dock cable. If all goes great, I will be able to charge the iphone at the same time.
I recently upgraded phones and was left with a 3g. Take the SIM card out and it is an Ipod Touch with a camera.
The vehicle is a 01 CLK 55. Head unit is the one with the tape deck (I don't know what the model is)

I have an installed iPod integration kit from Dice Electronics and it works perfectly! I had the disk changer removed from the glove box and my cord
connects through the double din slot under the radio...
