biggest i know of are renntech and kleeman but whoever you find; it's gonna cost $$$$$. for example iirc renntech charges $1,500 for an upgraded airbox.

there isn't much current aftermarket support bc vendors cant get the prices they used to for their parts due to the depreciation of the car. So they have moved on.

Meaning they didn't have a problem getting that kinda chedda when the average owner paid $70,000 for the car but now you are looking at around $10,000.

As ****ed up as this sounds but if you want to seriously mod it for power put a ls based gm engine in it or get a Z06.

+1. Added power (I'm taking real power) comes at ridiculous costs on these cars.

personally, i am gonna redo the entire exhaust, p/p the heads and intake, have it tuned and call it a day.

there is no way im spending 1500 on an airbox, 3 or 4000 for cams, 4000 for headers 15000 for a s/c kit and i don't think i have the energy to outsource and do the research myself anymore, it can be done but not unless my pockets are getting lined for my time and connections. minus the airbox any one of those is a down payment on the aforementioned c5 Z06; the 15000 can be a downpayment on a c6 z06 then you are talking real power than can be put to the ground. add em all up and you may find a used lambo you can put a down payment on.lol.

I will however put some exterior mods on it and a few suspension mods on it. basically pimp it out.

the only silver lining to this cloud is even if you could get alot of power from these engines; you will not be able to put it to the ground without making serious sacrifices.

This platform has 2 good strengths: 1.handling it just grips and grips and grips and even when you lose grip it's not hard to get it back. 2.looks: if properly pimped you will get tons of looks and compliments UNLESS you live in a rich area like dallas, miami or anywhere like that then it's nothing special.

all that aside, i love the car, i love the build quality(which you will not get from a z06 ) and i love the looks and handling of it. There just isn't that far you can go without outweighing the investment you have in it.

DOHC - spot-on!

I've gone the wheel-barrow of $$ into my clk55 mode.... and 6mo's in the shop..... but it should be a unique/fast ride. But get ready to pay big time.

Better off getting something more mod friendly and home-tuner friendly if you want to go fast..... c5 comes to mind if you can stand the looks.

I miss the days of being able to tune my little 5.0 EFI with a laptop and wideband, and adding boost was as simple as a $35 pulley from fleabay......

My next toy will be a p-car tt, and mod -it.... I hear they respond very well to tune/boost simple bolt-ons.

There are a couple fast clk's around here, but I find the fast crowd is tite-lipped about the secret sauce.... I'm guessing holding on to the drag-times records
who can blame them.

PTE is a very helpful resource.. do a search for his threads... very detailed info.

wait there is one way but you'd need to do research........nitrous!!! but the CR is 10.5:1 on hypeutectic pistons so too much spark knock will crack your pistons like glass. if i really wanted to i could find out but im lazy these days. most nitrous systems that use a TPS rely on the TPS using a 5v sig wire and the krauts are VERY tight lipped on tech data. you need to determine if the TPS on your car is in fact a 5v sensor. 0v for no throttle and 4.xx-5v for full throttle. Next you gotta see if the nitrous systems out there will play nice with your ecu as far as taking over timing if need be. if you get a yes to both those questions then juice it.
