keyless go won't work
hi all,
i just ordered new keyless go key from dealer, and found out that there's something wrong w/ the ignition controller on shifter, and it's $1200 to repair(no warranty left).
has anyone ever heard of this issue, and is there a less expensive solution?
i LOVE the car, but not sure that "feature" is worth $1200 to me, especially given what else i could do w/ the money. thx all.

From the MB dealer.
"After some searching we found the key is programed to the car. The keyless-go start is inop. So we diagnosed that and traced it to wiring within the shifter module assembly. The wire for the shifter keyless-go button goes through the shifter assembly and this has an open somewhere in there. Cost for parts and labor is $1,181.00 for the shifter replacement and program."
