Quote: Great, post some pics of your 55. What color you have?
Sorry for the delay, my 55 is brilliant Silver ill post some pics soon, shes stock right now.

Anybody got pics to share?

10" or 10.5" rears
9 or 9.5" fronts?

Based on pics i have seen (folks running 10" rears def have the space to run 10.5" rears in the back!! 9-9.5 is def doable from what i have seen! Lets see some folks that break up the cookie cutter fitment choices! (no offense to anybody of course)

8.5 front and 9.5 rear are the most common. It's rare for guys to run a 10 in the rear.

I'm pretty sure that's too wide. It will look very odd when you have to use a spacer and the tire is way past the fender.

OP..both of your 3's look good. I can only imagine what the ride quality is like. And no, answers such as "not that much different from stock" or "the ride is actually pretty good"..wont be believed. LOL.

But to each his own.

^ i get that alot especially at local meets, although with a agressive car like my e46 your not looking for a nice fluffy ride, hence the word aggressive. But it def wasnt harsh at all.. Wasnt teeth schattering or boucing at all.. no rubbing either..ive giving folks rides in my car to show them how its suppose to be.. They are always shocked by the cars performance.. Its all abt knowing how to set the cars suspension up.. Now my e30.. That not even agressive by ANY means, its a "standard flush set up" and it rides like a dream on my ground control coilovers.. But if nobody has ever attemped and REAL set up like these.. IE a truly low car that flush, And a low car that agressive can ONLY make the stereo typical asumption that that ride quality is "bad"

My CLK55 will be low and semi agressive. 19x9.5/10.5 ET 22 all around..

^
Now, This set up by this communties standards are insane/impossible/stupid/ "its a AMG" whatever the case my be.. Lmao its really funny.. But i plan to turn this car into what I* feel it needs to be.. Aggressive/Fast and sticks to the pavement and with a stance to match.. Just no crazy stretched tires compared to my e46 per say..
Guys with SLs ,CLSs , Es , AMG and BS cars in europe have been doing this since day one.. Its no wonder that here in the states our cars get "laughed" at, .. Personally.. I say You gotta think abt it in terms of a AMG car.. all that power with skinny tires, and stock hieght or slightly lowered?? AND SC kits it some cases.. Its no wonder there are pages and pages of ppl not understanding why the car over/under steers, etc etc..
"Stanced Cars" Are really more than just form over function .. Its both..

But... To each there own right? lol

Edit: pardon the typos/grammer.. Doing this via iphone, lol

dont get me wrong. Slammed with huge wheels looks GREAT. But it's impossible to maintain the same factory ride quality when you significantly reduce suspension travel and put tires on that have significantly less sidewall to absorb impact. It's basic physics.

That said..the tradeoff of handling and "road feel" to ride quality is subjective from person to person. I also recall when I was in my 20's I'd have NO problem with sacrificing 80% of ride quality for the look. Now that Im in my 40's? Not so much. lol.
Good luck with the project and make sure you post some pics. You have good taste in cars..and wheels.
