Any other CV boot fit 2001 CLK55?
I can't order the CV boot only the half axle($800)need the passenger rear CV boot mine is ripped. happened 2-3 weeks ago no later. hoping one from another car will fit perfect.

just called and talked to phil. they offer a inner boot but there is no outer CV boot for the 2001 or 2002 CLK55 AMG. only option is a new axel 
there are no after market rear axels eaither.
you must of ordered the inner CV boot. I am going to look at them and see if they are close enought and maybe i can make it fit. though from all the research i have done it looks like a new axel is what i am going to buy. I am going to drive till it is brok,e $800 is too much and i don't have it anyway.

i haven't looked but a cv boot is just a piece of rubber. get a caliper, get some measurements, go to a local pick-n-pull and scout for something close....most of the time when they pull engines from fwd cars they leave the axles n the cv boots are easily accessible then.
if nothing else get a cv boot from a large truck and put it over yours if u can get that perfect fit...just some ideas to maybe save u from a axle replacement.
lastly, check ebay...not necessarily for the cv boot but for a 5.5 engine.....there are several mb junkyards selling parts on ebay....they just advertise the engine but most likely they have the car it came out of too.
