Not sure if this means much to the OP but anyway I test drove both a 55 and a 500 on the same day this weekend. I will leave out discussion of cosmetic differences because whether or not wood trim makes a difference or not is too subjective from one guy to the next. To me the biggest difference was in the feel of the engine. The 500 was smooth and powerful, nicely consistent throughout the power band. The 55 on the other hand just hand more torque at every level. You could feel that engine yearning to do more no matter where you were in the power band. Just my .02
