CLK 55 AMG Cab from BMW 550i
New to Merc, new to AMG and new to this forum. Recently traded my BMW 550i for a CLK 55 AMG Cab (W209).
Looking at doing some after market improvements... The features currently are: Merc iPod connector, Bluetooth, PDC, Harmon Kardon sound system (guess that's standard?). Any suggestions on what after-market or merc additions would add value/improve the experience the most.

CLK 55 AMG Cabriolet
Thanks for the welcome
The major differences I have experienced thus far are
1) Performance oriented - cannot compare the suspension and transmission. Don't think the bavarian transmission (same as in 520d) was ever intended for a 4.8l engine and albeit comfy, you notice gear changes (neck) even in normal mode. Suspension: lots of body roll.
2) 550 is more fuel efficient, not a real concern in this class of car anyway
3) CLK styling a lot more classic. The E60 series you either loved or hated...and the new series has seen the E60 styling change entirely...
4) iDrive... Couldn't really figure out the climate control in 2.5 years....need I say more
5) Sound.. again no comparison. The 550 had standard 6 CD changer and DVD drive only used for Sat Nav.
All and all, happy to be in a different class of car.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Looking at a the 63 paddles (believe they are plug and play).

CLK55 AMG
they are not unfortunately.... it has become easier now as you can read in another thread on here, but you still have to cut your steering wheel or upgrade to a newer model steering wheel of an 06 cls/clk/e63.

As for you Nicole, I hope you enjoy your CLK - if she is anywhere near as much fun as mine was, you wont regret the purchase.
Happy driving !
