Blue Top Solenoids
Hi guys,
I've done some research and have come away none the wiser!
I want faster/firmer shifts from my trans. I have a 2000 year Tiptronic box from a 430 CLK. If I swap in the blue solenoids part number 240 270 00 89 will I achieve this? Or, do I have to have a TCU tune also.
I have read that these parts can be swapped in without complication and no star needed to reprogramme shift points. I have also read that on down shifting it can be quite harsh and the revs rise as if downshifting in a manual. This is not necessarily a bad thing.
Has anyone done this mod lately?
Am I missing something? Will this mod work on my trans?

This is a common mod and if you look hard enough you can find all of the needed info. I know you need to have the EGS52 TCU to pull it off and if you have a 2000 tiptronic box that means you should have the EGS52 as well.
