02 clk55 amg - soft top won't go up!!???!

The raise/lower button flashes slowly when pushed. Checked trunk, checked storage cover. Checked fuses. Tried resetting computer by unhooking and reattaching battery. Maybe the soft top module? Vehicle is in pristine condition, I just can't imagine its not something simple that I'm missing here. HELP!!!!! Any ideas on what else I can try? Initially I could hear the motor trying to initiate the process, but now I don't hear anything. I live over an hour away from the closest MB dealer/service shop. Thanks guys!!!

Are your rollbars functioning? If not, I would swap out the relay first as they use the same power source as the top.

Yes, they are functioning. I tried resetting. Didn't work. Roll bars go up and down just fine.

On mine, sometimes the first segment (back from the header) drops down slightly after I detach it from the header.

When this happens, I need to manually hold the segment in place until the top begins to recede.

There are two cables that hold the top in that first position. One of yours has broken causing it to slam down when you close the top. Replace the cable and your back in business for under 100 bucks.
