Hate to appear too ****, but ...
re. the body style numbers for Mercedes: are the coupes supposed to be C208 or C209 rather than W208 and W209? I had thought that the SL's were all Rxxx for Roadster; the Cabs were Axxx, the coupes: Cxxx, and the sedans Wxxx. But too many folks "in the know" here use W208 or W209 or W215 for the coupes that I figured I'd just ask!

I’m sure Daimler Chrysler has a reason for creating what seams to be non logical alphabetical assignments.
I also wondered why the SLK has a Kompressor (Super Charger) but the CLK doesn’t?
Several people asked me about my Kompressor, because they thought the K stood for Kompressor. I think the K stands for “Kompact”. Having a CLK with a Kleemann Supercharger was very confusing to most of them.
Luckily I don’t lose any sleep over it.
Sometimes German logic seams strange to some of us.
Sorry not much help,
Tim

Actually it's "kurz", but you are right- the K means "short".
No F1 race this year. Just as well, though, with my injury. Still driving the modded Maxima and the S2000. I'm gonna try to pay off the S2000 this year, sell the Maxima, and get a W209 CLK55. Things are looking good!

You won't be disappointed in the CLK
