Driving wise are the W209 CLK55 and W203 C55 similar? I have a hunch that the coupe will be more engaging to drive compared to sedans. It could just be the cool factor of driving a two door

CLK55 AMG
i found the C55 not as exciting to drive as the CLK55, it is quick but doesn't feel it as much... I think it has a cheaper feel to it as well... Mind you, neither of these cars are a bad choice, but if you don't need 4 doors buy a CLK, you won't regret it!! The most exciting car i have ever owned out of 30 cars and the first car I have owned longer than a few months... Not even thinking of letting her go either!!!

Not all W209 CLK55's were created equal. Specifically, the 2005-2006 models had more direct steering ratio, stiffer suspension tuning, etc than the 2003-2004 models. See this thread for details: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...ugh-years.html

The 2005 C55 also got all the mechanical performance upgrades to improve handling as the 2005 CLK55 AMG. Because the C55 is lighter and has a proper B-pillar, my guess is that the C55 would feel a bit more nimble and solid around corners.

The number of doors has zero impact on any performance parameter, unless the extra doors resuted in a significant increase in weight (which is NOT the case with the C55 vs CLK55).
