C55-06 TCU in CLK 55-04
Hey Guys, would like to share some info with you... I was thinking lately about the Tcu Tune for my CLK 55 04, but i was more interested in changing gears with the paddle on The C,S,M mode just like the 05-06 , and same like C55 05-06 + hold gears on the M mode... So wanted to do something special...
1- The CLK55 03-04 only change gears with the paddle on the M mode while The CLK55 05-06 change gears with the paddle on the C,S,M mode.
2- The CLK55 03-04-05-06 doesnt hold gears on the M mode like C55.
3- I found a C55 06 Tcu , it took 5 min to put it in my car (Plug&Play) and now my car change gears on the C,S,M mode with the paddles + 1 thing which the CLK55 05-06 doesnt have it,my car now Hold Gears on the M mode.
4- So changing Gears on the 3 Modes with the paddles + Holding Gears was my 2 targets, So the question now, since i got to my target, i go for a tune for my new TCU or leave it stock??
Improvements Include of most tuning companies :
- Modification of Torque Management Settings
- Reduced Slippage
- Faster Shifting
- Raised RPM Limiter
- Gears hold when in manual mod
- Raised Torque Limiters
Is it worth or no ? Need some advices

I changed rear ratio from 307 to 327 , speedriven did the tcm ,,also had
JS Benz do a tcm for another change gear . raised rpm, holding in gear, and solid shifts. ,these work the best for me.
your question ,,,So changing Gears on the 3 Modes with the paddles + Holding Gears was my 2 targets, So the question now, since i got to my target, i go for a tune for my new TCU or leave it stock??
My answer.,,,you have done what most of the tune would do, holding in gear, raised the rpm limit, sharper shifts, yet smooth. unless you are going to change your ratio, I think you have fount the best way to get a tcu tune. thanks for the info. jim

i'm going for it
I was thinking about a TCU tune rather than an ECU.
My view is that a few extra horses on a 4500+lb. ride are not going to make a huge difference but having little bennies like hill holding in all modes will enhance my daily driving experience. To have the 7 speed.....
As soon as I put the replacement in I will share my results.
Just exactly where does this sucker reside? Did not see it in my WIS disc...
