brakes from another amg
Hi.
What AMG brakes fits the CLK w209?
I have seen in EPC that C(203), CLK(209) and SLK(171) have the same front steering knuckle, so the brakes from these models should bolt right on.
The E(211), SL(230) and CLS(219) have another part number for the steering knuckle. Will these brakes fit? I am thinking of the size of the bolt holes on the calipers and the distance between holes..
And the CL(216) and S(221) have another part number again.. Will these fit? Same problem as above about holes etc..

Generally; all MB models uses the same distance of the calipers bolt holes,
The early (W209 CLK55) uses "345x30" Front Rotors, with 4-pot calipers, and "300x22" Rear Rotors with 2-pot calipers
with "M12X1.5X45" bolts,,
The late (W209 CLK55 & CLK63 & R171 SLK55) uses "340x30" Front Rotors, with 6-pot calipers,
and "330x26" Rear Rotors, with 4-pot calipers with "M12X1.5X35" bolts,,
also you can use an AMG performance package with code #: (-P98), that has "360x36" with 6-pot calipers,,
No any problems with a front steering knuckle, it has a good clearance....

There is several 211, 219 and 230 amg brakes for sale on Ebay, but non from 209, 203 or 171.
Therfor i was wondering if i could bolt on AMG brakes from 211 or 219 with no or minor mods to the steering knuckle on my CLK.

Don’t worry my friend, all AMG 6/8-pots from "W211/215/219/230", can be bolt-on & fit easily to your "W209",
if you will go with a late "6/8-pot", you just need to drill "2mm" in the holes of the steering knuckle that holds the calipers,,
cause you have "M12" bolts, but the late "6/8-pot" comes with "M14" bolts...
